4. EPCOT, Walt Disney World (Orlando)
- The Verdict: A great attraction and the blueprint for others, but not a true "Frozen Land."
- Why it ranks here: EPCOT deserves credit for introducing Frozen Ever After to the world in 2016 by retrofitting the classic 1988 Maelstrom ride in the Norway Pavilion (with mixed reactions). However, it fails to deliver a true "step-into-the-movie" experience. You aren't walking through Arendelle village or gazing up at the North Mountain; you walk through EPCOT’s World Showcase representation of Norway. 3. Disney Adventure World (Paris)
- The Verdict: Unequalled world-building and theatrical reveal.
- Why it ranks here: What Paris lacks in ride count and innovation, it makes up for in pure cinematic scale. The arrival experience via Adventure Way leads guests toward a dramatic reveal: the 36-metre North Mountain looming over the 7.5-acre Adventure Bay. The land’s integration with the water, state-of-the-art audio-animatronics on Frozen Ever After, and character roaming experiences (including an animatronic Olaf) make it a triumph of world-building — and by far the most accessible option for UK travellers. - Why it ranks here: Located inside Tokyo DisneySea’s multi-billion-dollar Fantasy Springs (easily accessible from Fantasy Springs Hotel), the Frozen Kingdom port boasts Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Journey. Instead of copying EPCOT's retrofitted boat ride, Tokyo received a custom-engineered dark ride with emotional storytelling and mind-blowing set pieces. By placing the land directly against the real-life lush mountains of Lantau Island, Imagineers seamlessly blended physical terrain with the forced-perspective North Mountain. While Hong Kong and Tokyo hold the top two spots for me in terms of ride variety, setting, and technological leaps, Disney Adventure World’s World of Frozen in Paris sits comfortably at #3 — lightyears ahead of EPCOT’s original attempt.
